Are you GREEN yet?

I couldn't believe the statistics that Matt Lauer shared on the Today Show this morning.

Sam and I often talk about going GREEN.. it is certainly easier said then done. It's amazing how accustomed we have become to convenience! It's horrible.

So what have we done to go GREEN? Well here is a list of things that we are trying to do:

- Avoid using paper plates
- Avoid using plastic water bottles
This was/is extremely difficult! We always drink more when the bottles are chilled in the refrigerator. But, "Uncle Dan" has bought us a Brita Faucet Filteration System, and for the last two days we have been using it regularly.
- Avoid using aerosols
- Canvas Bags - after watching this segment we have decided to invest in canvas bags. I found these on-line ...

So, what have you done to try and go GREEN? One important thing to remember is that it takes time to go GREEN, especially for those who are like myself and enjoy the conveniences that life has to offer.

Like most things that we try and perfect, it will take time. Any effort we make will help.

Take a look at this video clip..

Happy New Year

Happy New Year - although slightly delayed! It's the thought that counts! =)

Well, we are starting off the New Year with a bang!  We have a new website, exclusive for our Wedding Photography! Be sure to check it out!

Unfortunately, the addition of our new website had one downfall..  The new site caused our server to change, which also meant that we lost some of our contacts from previous e-mails. Don't worry.. everything is up-n-running and going smoothly now.. so if you have sent us any e-mails and we have not responded please re-send them..

For our Southern California Clients, Don't worry we haven't forgotten about you.  We will still be serving your area even more so now..

In order to make this happen, we will have scheduled days for consultations and engagement sessions for both Southern and Central California!

We wish you a Happy New Year and be sure to call us for all of your photography needs.

The Season of Giving

We all know what time of year it is.. the Season of Giving. Yes, that's right, we are off scrambling trying to find the perfect gift for everyone on our list. This post is directed to the "toy givers", if that's you; this is very informative.

I rarely watch TV, but the other afternoon I stumbled upon the
RachelRay show. I was astonished to find out how many toys are being recalled that we aren't even aware of!! Also, how many toys are coated with lead paint! Wasn't that banned in the 1970's?! Banned here, in the USA but not in other countries that many of our toys come from.

I've walked by some stores and have seen bulletins with toy recalls, but who has time to look through a list at a store when we have other things to do and buy. So, now I'm doing my homework before hand.

ToyTips is a website that specializes in all toys that have been recalled!! Definitely, a site to check out before purchasing any toys for our little friends. Also, don't forget those lead testers! These are very inexpensive and can be purchased at most hardware stores, such as Lowe's or Home Depot.

The Season is Here!

Well, it's official.. Thanksgiving is over and Christmas is here!!

Our Christmas gift to everyone is a free session! Yes, that's right; a free session!!
Why? Glad you asked! Recently we had a mother inquire about booking a holiday session for her toddler. Upon receiving her quote, she responded by saying that she loved our work but she was going to wait and do a sitting at a more meaningful time...

We certainly understand, where this mother is coming from, but being a mom myself, I had to ask, isn't every moment meaningful? Everyday my daughter amazes me!! Her new discoveries, expressions and behavior constantly change and we are so fortunate to be able to capture these precious moments before she outgrows them!

These are the moments that we strive to capture in every child.. so please don't wait to book a session for a "more meaningful time", let us capture your most precious moments.....because all are meaningful!!

Stoller Strides

Have you ever been out to some of the local parks, such as RiverWalk and noticed a group of women pushing their strollers? I have and I wondered who they were for two reasons; one, the women were working out and enjoying it and second, the kids were enjoying themselves. ( What could be better? )

A few weeks ago, I met Michelle who just so happens to be the owner/instructor of Stroller Strides. I decided to ask her what exactly is Stroller Strides, and this is what she told me:

"Stroller Strides is a fun way to get back in pre-baby shape! It's not just a stroll in the park. This is a 1 hour, full-body workout. Mommies may run or walk (most power walk) and every few minutes we stop for strength training. At the end of class we do abs and stretching. Stroller Strides also offers Mom's Night Out (MNO) once a month and Playgroups every Wednesday. You do not have to be a member of Stroller Strides to participate in MNO or playgroup. Come on out for a class sometime -- your first one is on us!"

Sounds great to me!! So, check them out at: www.strollerstrides.com
